SHOULD THERE BE RESERVATION?
Well, going back to the times when we have observed atrocities on caste discrimination; the bad times and grievances that one of them has gone through, With due respect, now in present times, what matters is who needs it and the whole discussion should be on need basis and not on past historical significances; the reason for the same is elaborated below....
After giving reservation to the needy on caste lines in the past for their upliftment and equal opportunities to maintain and strike a balance to uplift the relatively disadvantaged in the society, in many instances in present times we are observing the below trifurcations:
(1) Many people of the reserved communities were uplifted in the past and now the hierarchical reservation technique is being adopted for sheer misuse. Moreover, many people from the upper caste were unable to afford facilities due to economical issues for which the EWS category was introduced.
(2) Many people of the reserved communities are still on the path of upliftment and for the same, reservation is a big help.
(3) We often observe reservations on regional(language) lines as well in various states which promotes big imbalance in the opportunities for the general category candidates in that particular state who are non-proficient or less proficient in their mother tongue to any reason.
SO WHAT CAN BE THE SOLUTIONS FOR THE SAME?
(1) Introduction of a filtration system to validate ones need for reservation in present times.
Explanation:- For example, if you fill an application form to appear in a govt examination, you are asked about your category and if you belong to a reserved one, The moment you are asked about the same, on a set of certain defined parameters, you should be asked about various authentications to validate your need for reservation. Parameters can include (Parents occupation, their educational background, your background if reqd, family income etc)
The above would validate your need for reservation in present times.
Many intellectuals i have encountered who support reservation, the way it is. Although I don't understand their logic behind the same except the historical significance, i would appreciate if any one of you and also of not having such a thought, kindly put your suggestions and viewpoints for enabling a better regulatory framework for reservation in future.
#MySoleOpinion- Reservation should be given to the needy in present times and that too reservation in facilities as for skill development, educational facilities for becoming capable enough to fight equally with the general peeps.
1.Give them money for college fees, give books for free in shops, if they are disadvantaged ,not a reserved seat
2. Give them facilities for imparting adequate education in schools, not a reserved seat to enable some to get something without efforts.
3. Give them skills to do something worth for the nation, not misuse its facilities.
Thats why "Need of a Filtration System" in reservation and abolition of language based reservation (you can conduct an examination to find if one's proficient in your mother tongue or not, not reserve a seat based on that)
